Physics and Physicality - TQ Staff on discovery

BM: The brochures describe Techniquest as a science discovery centre. To you, what exactly does that mean?

HF: Well a discovery centre is somewhere you should be able to go and - discover, find something out. Whether you find out - a science message or whether you find out that actually science isn't so horrible after all, you know. I think that - so I think you can say it's a discovery centre in the broadest sense because it needn't be, needn't be a science discovery centre it could be an arts discovery centre it could be, you know, any sort of discovery centre. And it should be discovery in the sense that that you physically engage with something so - it's the act of doing means that - it - you know, the physical act means that you know - hopefully "hands on minds on" you know. Brain switches on when you, when you do something with your hands, so.
