BS: Can you tell me a little about the quality of interaction . . .in the planetarium.

JC: The planetarium - it's a funny sort of space. If you've got a class in there - because they're - if you've got an older class in there they tend to work together - and so you can talk - because you're based in the centre and because of the way the acoustics work you kind of talk to everybody - rather than at one person - because they can't see you as well - they might be able to hear you move they might be able to hear your voice come closer or further away it's - I don't know how you describe it. It's a funny - it can be quite - can be a very intimate space, especially if everyone's focused and they're all joining in, they're all listening - I find that that kind of will go if you've got questions - because children don't want to listen to somebody else's question. Sometimes you'll even get the same question 2 or 3 times because they won't bother to listen because somebody else bothered asking it so they shut down.

Um usually that's younger audiences - with a - with family groups - that depends very much on the group. Sometimes they all seem to be on a similar wavelength and you get the same kind of atmosphere and sometimes you know that the people over there this is not what they thought they wanted to do and they're kind of sitting there waiting to go out whereas somebody over there is really interested and that group have got a baby in that's probably a bit young and is making a noise that's irritating everybody else. So that depends very very much on who's booked in to the show. Probably as well with the relationship that they've got with the presenter. And that would also - I suppose that depends on the personalities involved. Some people might respond better to you if you're male or if you're female or - if you're younger or - possibly some people respond better because you're older rather than some of the presenters we have on the weekends are very very young. Still very good, but much younger. That kind of depends on who's booked in and that's something you've got no control over.
