BS Have you got any other major influences?
DB MAJOR INFLUENCES! Excluding the books I've mentioned that, I probably shouldn't mention again?
I loved watching that "100 Britons" with, the "100 Best Britons", the greatest Britons they had on the TV and they had Brunel and he was there. I don't know if he, won it, I can't remember who, I don't know, certainly he was up in the top. As a person, kind of like many of these artists you know they, they, they die poor and then 150 years ago or something someone sells a painting for millions of pounds. Many of the engineers have done some really, really cool stuff. Not necessarily realised. But, we look back at them now and think "wow! Look what they've managed to achieve." And, I think, someone, I don't know. How many of the ((pause)) many of the older, De Vinci and, Pascal is quite cool. The people that've, really created, my influences.
BS [In terms of what you]
DB: [Probably my dad.] Probably my dad. Major influence in my life. From a, very, practical, stand-point, being a watchmaker and having the precision and the ability to do that at that level. He's, he's also very - very into modelling things and, you know, engineering. He'll build something, you know, that's a foot long, and it'll be a little steam engine running on the track. It's what he does. So that, that's something that's very. That precision I think, that's something that's very big as an influence. My mum, tempered some of my dad's enthusiasm for, steel ((laughs)). Which is a good mix. I don't know. Heath, working with Heath for a number of years. He, a lot of his ideas about exhibits have come through and I'm sure a lot of - my quotes have probably come forth from Heath at some point. He's got a - different ideas about a number of things but I think that's good. I'm not just - following his line.
