BD Going back to the messages. Where do the ideas for the original messages=
DB =Concepts=.
BD =come from? Yeah the concepts.
DB Many, many, many of the concepts come through seeing exhibits
in other centres. Many of the concepts are pre-existing within science demonstrations.
Cause in, inherently many of the science demonstrations include, general,
principles, which if anything you've got that - raw message and the general
principle about whatever. Something like the, the hydrogen rocket - that is
using, splitting hydrogen and oxygen, using the handle. That was one of the
first, before they knew anything about electricity that was about the first
way that they ever, saw of actually discovering. I'm trying to remember the
name of it and Christopher will probably shoot me at this point. It's very
famous kind of bit of glassware. But that's, that's, we've, we've taken what
is a famous bit of glassware and incorporated it within the exhibit. So, you
kind of have to know, the demo kit. You have to know, how people are teaching
- the principles, say. You have to incorporate a little bit of the knowledge
from other science centres and how other people are - using that exhibit -
that exhibit in situ. And then you kind of add together a Techniquest slant
on it which is slightly different from a number of other centres, and kind
of push it all together. And create many of, many of the ideas come through
prototyping playing with an idea actually getting something physically in
front of you because - until you've got it there, it's so hard to just sit
in an office and design something. You actually need to have - the office
is littered with, bits of Scalectrix track at the moment that sort of thing.
You, you have to have it there you know, you have to have, tried it used it
yourself. Actually had a competition with someone else to, to see how it is
drive the car. Which is why we, work late nights I think.
