BM: At one point you were saying the people doing the shows are they presenters or performers
SB: Teachers or performers.
BM: Teachers or performers, that was it, yes. Do you think for example giving them acting lessons or performance less that would be a good thing?
SB: Yes. We want to do that no we want to do that. We've got someone from the Sherman Theatre, that I made contact with originally and now Sarah Connery, who's in charge of our training has booked him to come during our closure week in September ( ). He's going to run a special training session in the Science Theatre for us. No. It's something that we need to - to do. You can't assume that people can just walk into the Science Theatre and um know what to do.And it's a very personal thing. Some people are really good at it we've got some brilliant people here they, especially some of the youngsters at the weekend they just walk in there and fantastic. We all have a different style. My style is a teacher's - style. I know that, I'll never change. Some people's is not um - but it doesn't mean that they won't be good for doing schools' shows, you know. But perhaps they might not be able to be so quite so casual - with the kids, you know. There's a few sort of rules that we sort of have unwritten rules, never do this and. I don't know it - we're very lucky - because all our presenters are really professional and they do a great job. And we don't have a very sort of strict sort of way of - choosing them. If people want to present in Techniquest they usually would get the chance to do it which I think is really nice. It's open to all. But sometimes they might just present as a sort of an assistant presenter. The you know, not quite got the confidence to be the main presenter. But yes, they we - we do try, every September when it's closure, last time we had Steve Mesure, who I was saying about. He came down and did training session. Which wasn't just open to our presenters it was open to all helper staff who would be interesting in presenting. Interested in presenting. And - it was brilliant. Lots of people said how much they enjoyed it and lots of people said they used a lot of the ideas and techniques - in their shows to improve their shows. So - so we hope that we will continue doing that. We do have quite a fast turnover of presenters. So, most the people who came to that last September have probably left now. ((laughs)) So it is quite important to keep doing it every year.
