BS: We'll begin with some biographical questions. Could you just introduce yourself and say a little bit about your background.
AS: Yeah. OK. My name's Anna Sheridan and I came to be at Techniquest, well I joined Techniquest 8 years ago. I did a degree and a PhD in biochemistry. So my - PhD was on Parkinson's disease. So neurosciences. And then I did a 4 years post-doc in medical genetics. One year of that was in Sydney and 3 years in Cardiff at the University of Wales College of Medicine. In the last two years of my post-doc in Cardiff I did a science communication diploma at Birkbeck college which was a correspondence course. But previously I'd worked at the Science Museum on their interactive gallery called Launchpad, in 1984 or 5 (I don't remember it was so) so long ago. And I'd done teaching and tutoring, whatever. So I'd always had quite strong educational background.
Um - and then I came here in 1995, as the Healthquest project manager. And for that I was developing programmes, workshops, and - working in, with Heath in the workshop on developing exhibits to do with health. That's a 2 year project. After that I became education project manager which meant that I was dealing with life sciences - again. Same sort of thing with workshops and programmes. And then in 2000, January 2000 I was promoted to education director.
