1) Bruce and I go to TQ to test equipment borrowed from SoundKit. We have arranged to observe an "it's electric" project meeting which, due to lack of space, once again takes place in the café. These conditions are not ideal for recording and so we decide to use the minidisk only (rather than the video camera). We all sit at the same table. Darren buys us drinks. As we begin recording Bruce knocks some tea over the table and minidisk recorder. Darren finds this very amusing and makes a joke about us keeping a "low profile". I think he is referring to a conversation that I had with him last time we met. I may have said something, which I now regret, about us not wanting to disrupt their normal working processes.
2) I had hoped that I would be able to write some reflexive notes to compliment the audio recording, but during the meeting all my attention is focused on the equipment. The head phones that I am wearing cut out all the surrounding sound which mean that the only thing I can hear is the information that comes through the microphone. The microphone is highly selective, it picks up Darren's voice very well but it is hard to hear what Dawn and Heather are saying.
