Sequence 1: the playground

The children stand in the playground. They are queuing to go into the school. Zoe tells the camera that all the children are excited. The Parents kiss their children goodbye. The children talk amongst themselves. Camera pans the queue.

The children file into the school building. Some children wave to the camera and say "hello". The camera follows the children into the classroom. Miss Richards addresses the class.

The children sit on the floor in the class room. Miss Richards tells the children their groups for the day. She says that they can go to the group leader if they have a problem, but they do not have to stay with the groups all day. The camera is near the door of the classroom and tracks to the back of the children.

Miss Richards asks the children to put hands up if they want to go the toilet. Some children put their hands up. Miss Richard calls out their names.

The children sit on the floor chattering. Miss Richard tells Justin off. The children stop chattering. Children come back from toilet

Andrea and Amena hold hands and walk across the classroom to their group leader. Amena hugs the group leader.

The children are outside. They climb the stairs and walk towards the school gates. The camera walks shakily behind them.

The children file out the school in line. The camera is stationary, and to the children's right. The angle of the shot emphasises the shape of the line.

The camera follows the children out of the school gates, and moves with them as they walk down the street. The road slopes downwards. The children are in pairs, holding hands.

The children stand in line on the street. We see them from across the other side of the road. The grunt of the bus's engine can be heard. The bus enters the frame.

The children file onto the bus. The camera is to their left. The children are talking amongst themselves. Julian talks to his group leader. He waves at Cammy.
