BD: < Now > tell me. You know the show? You know the show that you have just seen? What do you remember about the show?

((Zoe puts her hand in the air))

Li: I like the part. I remember when they pushed the monkey to get the banana and pushed the monkey into the blocks. To knock it down. ((He pushes his hand forward as he recalls the monkey being pushed. He points down when he talks about the wall being knocked down)).

Ze: I like it when they squeezed and squashed the, um. ((She flaps her hand about)).

Sh: Stretchy stuff.

Ze: Stretchy stuff [with the]

Bl: [And I liked] the bakery stuff. When they was [baking um eerr bread.]

Sh: [I liked the bakery] as well.

BD: Ok. Well. With the bakery were they doing pushes or pulls:

Bl: [Yeah]

Sh: [Pushes], pulls, twists and squashes.

BD: What about twist? Is a twist a push or a pull?

((Zoe performs a twisting motion with her hands))

Li: I like the part where they twisted, because it didn’t twist. It didn’t it. [it it]

Bl: [It] ripped all apart.

Sh: It fell [apart].

Ze: [apart]
Li: Yeah he twisted it, ((he perform the movement with his hands)), and then it just fell [apart].

Sh: [apart].

Ze: [apart].

BD: That was funny. Can you think. Can you think of any pushes that you saw, in the show?

Ze: Yeah. Like when we pushed the [monkeys.]

Li: [Pushed the monkeys].

BD: Pushed the monkey. Yeah. Anything else?

Si: Pulled the monkey.

BD: Pulled the monkey. Can you think of anything else?

Ze: Umm. Umm. I forgot now. And umm. Smashed. Like pushed the monkey and it banged all the wall down.

BD: And it banged the wall down, yeah. Anymore?

Sh: ((Off camera). Hold the gooe. Stretchy coloured gooe.

((Boy speaks off camera and Bella responds. Not transcribed))

BD: Aha. That’s right. Yeah. Yeah. Can you think of anything more?

Sh: Umm. ((Shakes her head))

BD: Can you think of any more [pushes or pulls?]

Sh: But I know one name for pushes and pulls. Forces.

BD: <Ahhh.> What’s a force?

Sh: Umm. I don’t know. ((Giggles))

BD: What’s a force?

((Children, now concerned with their dinner, talk among themselves. Bella repeats the question several times before getting an answer))

BD: What’s a force?

Ze: It’s like. I’ve forgotten now. (…) I don’t know. ((Sits down))

BD: Can you think of anything that you do in the house?

Sh [Walking]

Ze: [Like I] pulled my Mam.

BD: You pulled your Mam?

Ze: Yeah [And I -

Sh: Walking because you’re pushing with your legs.

BD: Yeah

Ze: - I pulled my, and I pulled Harry, [my] dog.

Si: [Who’s Harry?]

BD: You pulled him, or did he pull you?

Ze: He’s not a real dog, he’s pretend, but I pulled him.

BD: Can you think of any more in the house. No?

Ze: And I pulled my Dad, and I pulled, my CD’s out of the draw. And I pulled my bed out. And I pulled my brother. I pulled my, and I pulled my …

Sh: I pushed my door shut.

Ze: I, I, I umm. I ummm. I can’t. I uhhh. I forgot now. And I. And I pulled my mam’s plates out.

((Sam has joined the group, and now talks to Bella about her necklace. Not transcribed))

BD: Tell me what your favourite thing about the show was?

Sam: The song, I liked.

BD: The song at the end?

Sa: Yes

BD: Can you remember any pushes in the show?

Sam: Ah yeah. When we pushed the, the monkey skateboard.

Bella: <Yeah> can you think of any others?

Ze: When the monkey pulled, smashed the wall down.
