The first clip (00:38:22:09) is being used as an exemplar in the Online Guide to explore issues in ethics. In this case, two ways to deal with a participant's request to omit certain material are demonstrated. In one case the material is cut and replaced by a graphic, in the other case the material is simply cut.

Note that the participants did not request these omissions, this is purely used as an example.

Peter talks about the P&P show. He explains the motivation for the changes made. He discusses styles of presentation & explains how he uses the science theatre as a stage.

partial transcript: "Where I think what we should be doing here is using it more as a stage - and - occasionally just surprising them. You know the baby monkey on the skateboard became the stunt monkey. It makes it bigger it makes it "ooh what's happening." So it gives the sort of more of a gentle wow factor. Peter discusses the difference between communication of science and teaching of science. He explains the difference between knowledge and "triggering of the mind." Pythagoras's theorem.

Peter discusses the organisational tensions between greenshirts ("on the floor") and the educational team (in the "office"). The green shirts are seen as dispensable, where as in Peter's view they are quite capable.

Peter talks about the actor's workshop that he did whilst on the MSC in science. Uses example of a beach ball demonstration to discuss theatricality. Bella asks about the tensions between the theatrical techniques and the educational content.

Interview with helper on floor (Mike? brown hair and goatee beard). His favourite exhibits are puzzles, because they relate to maths and logic: "which is what I do". He takes us to rocket puzzle. He explains how he would help a child on the exhibit, but says that it is more of an adult's exhibit. It 'Exercises the brain.'

Maths helper (same interviewee) in the hub. There is a series of exhibits on "risk". The helper not sure what it is trying to communication. He says that he likes it for the wrong reasons "because he knows about it". He talks about "curious" visitors and one who come to have fun.
