FieldnotesBambo and I met before going to TQ to talk about the 'pushes and pulls' trial at the primary school the previous week (see Bambo's notes). We discussed a range of strategies in relation to how we were to approach observing this show and decided that I would take notes on 'everything and anything' and a progressive focusing in terms of the school trio for this visit would emerge from the arising themes (hopefully!) ... ... more, overview I followed the line of children (class teacher herding them at the end of the line) as they snaked their way around the shop and down the corridor into the theatre. As passed the shop, I heard one boy shout out excitedly, 'oooh the shop, the shop'. We arrived inside the theatre and the children were sat on the front row (in their clusters of boys and girls). I sat at the end of the line, next to a freckled and ginger haired girl who immediately introduced herself as 'Hi, I'm Mitchell' and held out her hand for me to shake.
