BS: In most the Techniquest brochures, Techniquest is described as a Science Discovery Centre. Can you just explain a little but about what that means.

DB: Well I think - with I think one of the differences is, if you've got a science museum you would tend to have - an exhibit in it, which would be a train or a plane, something related to science. Well in a science discovery centre, the way I see it personally, is where you can go in and actually, discover science, by actually doing things, by doing hands-on things you can actually look at what science is. And I think - people react to this in lots of different ways. Some people just come in and play with it, and something might click with them, or they might not take any notice and think "oh that's pretty the way that acts." But other people then will come in and actually perhaps read the label if you're very lucky and then try and actually get something out of it. I think everybody gets something out of it in different ways there's all sorts of many different levels. But I think the main thing about being a Science Discovery Centre people can come in and actually discover science for themselves. Because lots of things they see in the world around them - don't actually - you know they don't actually think of them in the terms of science but hopefully by, doing some of the experiments and things here they can actually relate it to things that they may come across, if it's static electricity or lights or whatever. And hopefully it'll spark something in them to make them explore science further in the future and I'd say it's really a way of trying to encourage people to get involved in science.
