BS: Have you noticed any other differences between the ways different groups of children receive the shows? Like have you ever had an all girls school an all boys school?

DB: We've had lots of different. We've had all boys schools all girls schools - it'll depend on the school, it'll depend on the teachers that are with them. We had one group in there and the teachers, I was just about to start and the teacher said "can you hang on a second" called one of the kids up in front and said "can you go to the café and get us some coffee and cakes to eat while the show's on." So, it depends on the, lots of attitudes and some teachers they'll stand up front and they'll shout at the kids before you start. Huge range of what can actually affect they way - they react in there. Some schools will sit down quietly, listen, they'll come down and uh they'll take part. Other schools - you're struggling with them to keep them quiet enough to hear what you're saying so. There's so many different techniques you have to use then, to actually, everything from saying "look" you know "Sit down and shut up" to you know, there's so many different things you have to do to get them to listen to you. And - some schools come here regularly, they know what to expect, other schools the first time they've been here, you know, and they react, they all react differently in there, you know. It's it's it's so many factors actually affect the group, you know. We get all girl schools in there fine. We get all boys schools in there, they're fine. We get mixture groups they're fine. Then you get one all boys school will sit there and talk to their friends all the way through. Another boys school won't.

It depends on the sort of school how the teachers react what the headmaster's like. All sorts of things affect the way they come in. I don't think I could actually say well, this group come in, this sort type of group come in and react in one way, this sort of group come in and react in another way. There's no way you can say that. It's all down to the individual groups that come in from the individual schools, you know. And some schools they've almost banned from the place because of the way they act in the exhibition, you know. And - you - I was doing a talk for the planetarium and they were a college group and they were people who had been excluded from school. First thing you do when they're sat in there they've got their fags out and try and light up. You say "well look, you can't smoke in here", you know and so, fair enough, or. So, it's nothing to do with the age range or anything, it's to do with the actual, you know. No, I don't think there's any - if you say all 15 year olds, they all react in so many different ways when they come in, that's - you get some schools of 15 year olds - although I said they're more difficult to get down, you get some schools of 15 year olds and they're quite happy to come down. So I think it's a lot to do with the background in school they come from all sorts of things, tend to react, with what they usually do. So I don't think I could - there's no way I could actually sort of generalise and say well girls act this way, boys act in that way or anything like that, you know.
