BM: There's some stuff you were talking about. The impression I'm getting from behind around here is that science communication education has taken off in a very big way you've got the B.I.G. conference coming up. I'm wondering if I could get an impression from you of whether you've seen science communication grow, or not since you've been around.

SB: Yeah, it has grown, because there's more science centres, for a start. When I first started working in Techniquest there weren't very many. I did have the opportunity to go and visit a few, sort of a get a feel for it all, get a sort of overview and now there's - lot more funding available you know The Wellcome Trust, that's made a huge difference. I I don't feel - very on the ball - with what's happening in the world of science communication to be honest with you. I work part-time, I do my job which I love and then I'm very busy with my family. So, I don't, I haven't been to all these new wonderful places, I haven't seen all the exciting things that are going on at the science festivals. That's another whole area, you know. The Edinburgh science festival, I've never been to and I'd love to go. So I think you're right, I think it is taking off. It's - people are realising it's something worthwhile and - and yeah it's great it's popping up all over the place. I do get the feeling but I don't have a - I don't have an overview of it all, really, It's just from what I've - heard in Techniquest. Because I just haven't made the effort to go and - find out ((laughs)) I haven't got the time with my family because they're, I've got young children so. So, it's not very practical at the movement. But one day.
