BM: This is maybe a little hard to think of off the top of your head but you talked about when you're getting feedback from presenters it's usually obvious when something's not working within the first day so it gets binned straight away. I was just wondering if you could think of any examples of that?
SB: ((laughs)) Oh gosh. ((pause))
BM: It's always interesting hearing these things cause those are the kind of things [teach you more about]
SB: [I'm trying] Oh gosh, that's quite hard. Right. Well this isn't a very good example but when I first wrote the toys show there was 6 boxes of toys in the show - and - I really had to whiz through to get it all done in 30 minutes. And um of course that's easy for me because I wrote the show but other people just said this show is too long and we we have got to get rid of one box just because - we have to talk so fast and it spoils it, we want to take our time and explain, you know. So we decided a decision was taken to come down to 5 so we just all agreed which one was the weakest, not so, wasn't so interesting, not so much - um. That's one example was the time factor. It's usually the time factor. We do try to put too much in. We're very bad at writing shows. I think general public shows, they're better cause they only put a few things and they're not trying to cover all the curriculum ((laughs)) like we are.
I can't think of a really bad things that went wrong. There might be a safety issue on some things. That we stopped doing it because it wasn't - it wasn't safe. Oh, I'm sorry, I can't - there have been quite a few things that have - that have gone - um some things people just think oh it's not worth bothering about. It's not very good. And they don't do it and they leave it out. And it's got left out. Once there was a show with a song in it and everyone hated the song so we just left it out ((laughs)). So by the time we did it they just said we're not singing that song. So we didn't sing it any more.
