BM: I get the impression the presenters don't like singing very much. They were mentioning that in pushes and pulls.
SB: They hate it. We have this thing about it. But the schools really like the song so we have started started to get them recorded with the - see the trouble was we didn't use to have - the facilities to get someone to record a song for us so it was a bit mean but we did used to have to sing it without any music, which is horrible. No one likes doing that. But if you've been a teacher you don't really think anything of it because you have to do that all the time you know. But if you haven't been a teacher then it's really scary ((laughs)) and embarrassing. Yes, so we have started putting all our songs getting them recorded - the music and a voice so you could actually just mime to it, and do all the actions and it shouldn't be too bad. If someone really really hated singing the song I don't think it would be too bad to leave it out. As long as we haven't written to the school before hand and sent them the words, well then you've got to do it. And we have done that with one of our shows, we did send the words in advance and they learnt the song. That was at Christmas. Because it was a - it was a new tune and a new song they didn't know. That was quite interesting. ((laughs))
Yeah. Songs are a bit of an issue. I can't think of a really good example for you. But - it's not usually anything major because by then usually they've had a chance to have a say anyway. Most presenters do get to see the show before we run it, properly. Well you saw that example with Pushes and Pulls. We got rid of those competitions didn't we, because they didn't work very well. Do you remember that?
