BS: So the exhibits that you create, what are they about, what are they for?

DS: In terms of science centres, Techniquest's exhibits are much more - independent - in terms of when - the kind of ethos here is that you design an exhibit should be completely independent free-standing of other exhibits, even if it is part of a theme. So somebody should be able to come up to that exhibit - and basically - be able to use it intuitively. So it shouldn't be complicated and we try and avoid process exhibits where they have to do a set sequence of quite complicated things, cause that is quite hard. We much prefer exhibits where they can actually - explore - and try different combinations. And the best exhibits are exhibits where they do that and they'll do that and they'll actually be able to - broaden their understanding of some kind of scientific principle, in doing that. And hopefully not by having to read the label text, which tells you exactly what is happening, but just because they, they try something, they see something happening they see their effect that they're having on something and therefore they learn. I think that's kind of very much how Techniquest uses exhibits.
