Interview with Todd Shelby - Science Communication Tutor

I like that way of viewing things in life. In the same way that music to me is not just background stuff like wallpaper. I mean wallpaper is deeply interesting as well but music is something which is - or can be - incredibly complex and beautifully constructed and very difficult art - and something capable of, of moving people not just making you want to jig up and down. But - an important aspect of our culture. And so it is that kind of thing that I feel science ought to be for rather more people. As well as being something jolly and - I think we've got a better society if people view science as something which is non-threatening. ((pause)) Because people are dead frightened of scientists and - it's a shame in lots of ways.
