Vox Pops with staff and helpers
Vox pop: Maire. Bruce is interviewer. Maire thinks that children will like the rocket, the monkey and some of the toys. She hopes that they will take away the idea that pushes and pulls are forces, and that you can make things go faster or slower or change shape.
Maire explains her involvement in show.
Vox pop: Jean . Jean thinks it is a fun show. She believes that the kids will like the monkey and the fun things, and that they will learn some science. She won't know the changes that she will make until she performs the show.
Vox pop - Sarah. She hopes that they will enjoy show. She wants to hear the teacher's comments. The trial of the show has given her confidence. She is worried about knocking down walls. She thinks that the show is at the right level, but she is worried that it may not have the "wow factor".
Sarah - compares Pushes and Pulls to other shows. Pushes and Pulls is an "old fashioned" lecture type demonstration. More recent shows tell stories, use shadows, mime & effects. This show is simple and depends on the presenters timing and experience. Sarah believes that the format works well with this topic. (Physics).
Sarah - describes the process of making the show. She says: "It was just the way it came about". She is worried that the show doesn't "flow" and hasn't got a "logic". But she thinks that short, sharp sections might work for some children.
Vox pop: Peter. Peter says, you never know what it is going to be like till you go in. He thinks that the show will hold together and be good fun. He believes the monkey will be the most memorable because it is humanistic. He also thinks that the Rocket will work. He says that anything that "goes bang or looks cute" is memorable. Peter hopes kids will take home the "dreaded" key stage points. He thinks the show is fun, and that educational shows are going away from "solemn" towards edutainment.
