Physics and Physicality - TQ Staff on discovery

BS: Ok we're going to move onto a different section now . . . What do you personally think that science is?

DB: It's an interesting one that Um (3.5) I think it's a, a way, science covers all sorts of ways of exploring - the world around you. So it can cover - the sort of physics aspects which is actually the way things move and all these sort of things, the biological and the sort of biological side and the chemical side. But I think for me as well it also covers things like - there's certain areas of geography that come into it and there's certain areas of - uh - geology obviously is science as well. Geography - can come into that but you've got the 2 sides of geography. You've got the sort scientific side which is all the physical stuff and then you've got the more - I don't know side which covers the sort of population and the way population grows and things. I think there's a lot in that sort of side of it as well. So I think it's basically the way the world works around you and exploring the way the world, the world itself works not the sort of inter-relations between people and things but the way the actual world itself works.
