BS: So you quite clearly said that you're interested in the science behind art.

DS: yeah, rather than the

((laughter interrupting each other)

BS: Could you just say something about the relationship between art and science?

DS: I think there's lots. On sort of different levels. And it used to be I think a lot clearer. If you think of Leonardo da Vinci - he loved them both, you know. He loved art and he loved science and I think - I don't know why today - people - basically see you in two - you have to be in one of or camp or the other. You can't - have both. You have to be, either you're artistic and therefore useless at science or you're scientific and therefore actually aesthetically ignorant and actually not very good at the kind of thing. And so I think and exhibition like this would be really good for - broadening - people who're really interested in science - hopefully - perhaps, helping them to see it a bit more creativity - you know see a bit more in terms of being creative with it. And for people who who think that they can't do science and that they're very arty to think "actually there's a lot of science involved in it."
