((BD: Questions BS about noise in the background. HW goes to ask people outside to be quieter. Recording is paused.))
BS. We were talking about how you became involved with Techniquest and what I would like to know now is a little more about your current job and what that entails.
HW: OK. Well - Concept Development Director. Up until 2000 I was exhibitions director. But, with Darren being very able and, we were looking for a new and broader role for me within the organisation. I think the job description's something like working with internal and external clients, to find ways in which we can, work together. So, with electricity, I put together a framework, a rationale for how, how we convey the topic and how we - yeah. To give the points of access for the general public to the topic that we're looking at. And also for key stages, for schools, as well. So I put together that framework and then we try and interpret the theme within that framework. But, Darren from exhibits, and Heather from public programmes have a huge input to that and overlaying matters, is a, is a layer of expediency, where, you know, something's quick and easy to do we'll go for that rather than - you need to have a mix of things in the project. So, with electricity, there are, half a dozen things that we have bought in, in order to, to get a certain amount of didactic content there. But then there are exhibits that we've always wanted to do that we can bring to the theme and add to it.
