Undertaking research in the IOCT

Research studentsEnquiries about PhD and postdoctral research are always welcome. Please email the Director in the first instance (details below) with an outline of a proposed area of research, a detailed CV, and any other relevant information. The Director will pass on the details where appropriate to relevant academic staff in the IOCT.

IOCT research is always inter- multi- or trans- disciplinary. Supervision teams will be assembled from more than one research area or centre. If you believe your proposed research project fits into a single area only, please contact the head of the relevant centre directly.

Studentships do become available from time to time, but these are always advertised at www.jobs.ac.uk and are subject to open competition. Studentships will never be awarded on the basis of private email correspondence only! However, if you express an interest in seeking a studentship in your first email, you will be kept abreast of any new opportunities that may arise.

Self-funded research may be undertaken at any time, in full or part-time modes. For advice about funding opportunities and how to make an application, please contact The Research Office.
